Sufism and Internal Peace

Some time ago, I went on a trip to the Holy Hijaz. A resident of Saudi Arabia, who is an old acquaintance of mine, came to meet me. He was one of the richest people there. After a long conversation, he asked me very seriously if there was something here that could give me peace (pointing to my heart).

Keeping in mind today's thoughts and searches, I said that you are also looking for peace. You are one of the richest people in Saudi Arabia. You have your airplanes. You have every blessing in the world, but still, you are saying that my heart is empty. He said to me: I really feel a void here. I told him: This peace is only in the remembrance of Allah.

 Readers! This is not one; I have hundreds of such incidents that are forcing us to come to that peaceful life of the Sufis, about which Ibrahim bin Adham (may Allah have mercy on him) used to say that if the nobles came to know our peace of heart, they would leave everything and sit at our feet. How has modern science taken the life of the Sufis in this way?
