In the city of Ahmedpur in the state of Bahawalpur, all the stages of education and training were completed here. I had a taste for reading and writing history since childhood. I had written, read and heard a lot. I had been familiar with the history of Bahawalpur since childhood.
At one time, Bahawalpur had been the center and axis of knowledge where great scholars, writers, physicians and religious and national figures were born. Its educational status was recognized all over the world. People from far and wide came here to acquire knowledge. This state used to be the center of attention of great scholars. Alas, alas! Today, all these things have become just a part of history.
But the truth is always true. The events scattered in history enhance, embellish and illuminate this truth. Bahawalpur has also been a historical state that has its bright Islamic civilization and excellent identity.
These were the things that forced me to pick up the pen again and again, but the question was which place and which personality of this beautiful, popular and dignified state should be made the subject of discussion.
If we take only one city of this state, Och Sharif, then the offices here are not enough to write about every great personality. You can also guess this from the fact that major research and scientific PhD theses have been written on this subject in some famous universities in Europe.
By the grace of Allah, this is my more than 160th scientific compilation, but it is my first attempt on my subject. I had intended to write a lot on this subject, which is still pending, but mountains of busyness have become an obstacle. Pray that Allah will bless me in time.
The book under consideration, "Sadiq Dost and Qila Darwar," is a very small attempt to highlight the spiritual impressions of history, which is actually a small indication of the story of the development of the Islamic system of life in the Indian subcontinent.
I have no claim, but I would like to invite scholars, writers and intellectuals to think that the state of Bahawalpur is also our historical and intellectual heritage, which is demanding that you spread the impressions of its radiant and bright history on white paper and is saying that wise nations never forget their successful history, but rather make it a landmark.
